Paypal problem! How to reverse payment? Please Help

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Many people face problem with Paypal and there are innumerable stories on the Internet about the quality of service they offer. I use Paypal only to order checks and receive payments into my PayPal account. As far as my knowledge about Paypal goes, there is no way that you can reverse a payment that you have made to a seller. You can contact a Paypal representative if you have made any payment mistake. Paypal as a company can reverse payments even from your bank account if the transaction has been done electronically. You cannot challenge Paypal because when signing the Paypal agreement, you need to agree to their terms and conditions. One of their terms says that Paypal can adopt any means to recover losses and mitigate risk. It is always advisable that you take utmost caution when you are dealing with Paypal. Otherwise you may land up in a scenario where you may stand to lose your hard earned money. I have seen many sellers asking this question, if they can reverse a payment. I have not been able to find a convincing answer to this question.

There are other problems associated with Paypal such as declaring a payment complete when the money has not yet been realized from the buyer’s bank account. This also causes tremendous hardships to the sellers as they sometimes fail to receive payments. All these problems sometimes makes Paypal a frustrating experience. However we need to understand that Paypal is still the leading online money transfer agency and they are taking necessary steps to make transactions as smooth as possible.

Paypal problem ‘e check’ clearance delay, should the seller be waiting?

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Paypal e-check problems cause delays in payment to sellers. This problem has been persisting for quite sometime and Paypal has not been able to solve this problem completely. As a result sellers face inordinate delays receiving payments and this hampers their businesses to a certain extent. Sellers should adopt a different approach when they are facing this problem. They should dispatch the goods only when the e-check has been cleared and the money realized. In this way they can avoid a situation of their money being blocked.

Buyers always have the option of checking out the status of their payments. If they see their purchase information it will show as “uncleared” if the payment has not been realized by the seller and it will show as “completed” once the payment has been cleared. There is another column which shows the date when Paypal expects the payment to be cleared. Sellers have the option of delaying the shipment, but they should always make a note that the goods will be dispatched only when the payment is realized.

Sellers often prefer to dispatch the before they realize the payment. E-business is very competitive and customers easily move away from one seller to another if they are not satisfied with the services. There are options to sellers apart from Paypal and one of the options include instant ACH check services. Many sellers are moving away from Paypal because of this delay in clearing. It is suggested that you always keep your options open but not affiliating with Paypal may reduce your credibility to some extent.
